When I worked at IBM, the worker bees (which many such "bees" referred to as "The Grovelers") knew that when management got together a "committee" (commonly called "a Task Force"), the project was DEAD.
Back when IBM ruled the world, there were actual LEADERS at the top of the company and even down through the ranks. It is pretty obvious that such exists at Amazon, Oracle, and I'm guessing Google as well as Microsoft ... in any case, we can name the ones that made those names household words, as we can IBM -- WATSON!
Friedman (Fried Man) obviously is quite concerned about "leadership" -- he would likely find any actual leader to to be an "undiagnosed sociopath" ... the issue is Thumos ... Manliness. Tom would likely be less confident in a standard North Woods WI bar.

Tom is a HUGE believer in globalization, and globalization has been very very good for Tom!
He recommends that the Democrats form a committee of all the leading lights of the political left and he fervently at least hopes that it will unite all the fractured Democrat party so that the unwashed masses of the deplorables can be put back in their unemployment, addictions, and hopelessness rather than keep running around in MAGA hats and WORKING!
I was once a groveler who fell to the temptation of being rewarded for licking the boots of the "leadership" -- even if they wore spike heels and in the real world could not lead a team out of a parking lot using Google Maps.
As a Christian, I believe in redemption. Thanks be to God.
I also believe in justice.
