The "funny" part is that it is really so simple -- the leaders and the population lose their connection to reality, and especially the reality of how very very small each of us is in the scope of the universe, and especially how limited and parochial our "opinions" of this moment are in in vast sweep of history.
So supposedly "Roberts" created the "mess" of money ('influence") in politics! Amazing! A problem as old as Plato, Athens, Rome, and every civilization that has ever existed! Naturally, from the Democrat position, the "problem" is money that isn't supporting them being allowed. The totalitarian state they desire would have no political bickering -- any opposition to their rule would simply be suppressed and exterminated if that didn't quiet it! How clean and simple!
In 1998, the Republicans impeached Bill Clinton because he lied under oath to a Grand Jury. Many people are prosecuted for even inadvertently making false statements to a court (Scooter Libby got a data wrong), it is a felony, and it matters not at all what you give false statements about!
The Democrats decided that they would show their political power by refusing to enforce this obvious crime, thus setting the precedent that even if a president commits a felony, impeachment is PURELY a political (rather than legal or moral) matter!
Now they are making it even more clear, and establishing that the "grounds" are whatever the majority wants them to be!

1800, 1860, 2020 -- The Importance of Honoring Elections
This disaster was 220 years in the making.
An excellent Podcast that covers both sides of this issue.
The election of 1800 was the first time in world history that power was passed PEACEFULLY between competing democratically elected political parties with the "losers" accepting the results. It was VERY close ... Jefferson and Madison tied in the Electoral College. (the scare quotes mean that when democracy works, everyone is really a winner in the slightly longer term)
In 1860 the LOSERS did not accept the results and it resulted in the Civil War. (no scare quotes ... everyone really lost, to the tune of 600-750K lives)
Right now we have a "Cold Civil War" that has been going on since "Watergate". Politics is "war by other means" -- but in order for it to stay "other means", the results of elections must be accepted.
The precedent now firmly established by the Democrats is that when a Republican gets elected president and the Congress goes Democrat, the Republican will almost certainly be impeached in the House unless he governs as a Democrat (RINO). This didn't happen overnight -- from Watergate on, the Republican Party never figured out that the Democratic Party / Deep State / MSM / etc was at war. Trump figured it out.
It has been totally obvious if one looked behind the MSM curtain -- Iran Contra, Bork, Tower, Thomas, letting Bill Clinton (and the whole Clinton Crime Family) slide, not accepting the results of the 2000 election (much less questionable than 1960), etc ...
We are now essentially converted to a Parliamentary system -- the Democrats broke the country by war in 1860, they have broken it by politics in 2020.
This time it is the purest of partisan politics -- they know impeachment won't pass in the Senate, and likely will not even get a majority, but they have been playing the long game since the beginning. Their base demanded that the election not be honored, so that is how they have have proceeded. They have always wanted "pure democracy", and realize (and applaud) that will quickly become centralized totalitarian rule by "experts" (Socialism). They are much more honest about that today at least.
We all get tired of the old "this election is the most important in your lifetime" and sadly, like the next breath of a person at death's door, it just gets truer and truer. Since Roe, Obergfell, etc. we now only await a SCOTUS "progressive" majority to lose the Electoral College, and then most likely be forced to solve our differences in the sad manner of 1860.
America was always an experiment -- nobody else had a Republic like we were handed by the founders. Keeping a Republic requires an educated public that understands what it means and pays attention. If the 2020 election is a landslide for Republicans followed by Ginsberg being replaced, and the SCOTUS finally acting to reign in the Deep State, we might actually get some real progress on returning to being America vs BOistan.
If it is close, we "muddle on", if God forbid, it is a big win for the Ds, then I hope and pray it is fairly civil Red/Blue divorce vs an actual shooting war.

Glaciers, Government, Gas

The government took your tax dollars sometime prior to 2010 warning you that the glaciers you were looking at would be gone by 2020. Remember, some version of "Global Warming" or "Climate Change" is SETTLED!
My view is that what is "settled" is that humans are susceptible to marketing!
Now government is taking your tax dollars to take the signs down as the glaciers they advertised as being gone by 2020 are 60% still there. Nature often fails to comply with government mandates. What's more, the government is complaining that they didn't get enough funding to correct their error! It is enough to bring a tear to your eye.
What? You mean that even though promised the opposite by the great Obama -- if you liked your health insurance, you weren't able to keep it? Fracking actually did make the US energy independent even though we were assured it would not?
There is a never ending litany of the "experts" being certain, and completely wrong. How many people have the common sense awareness to notice that killing Iranian head terrorist Solemani barely caused a blip in US gas prices (he met his virgins Jan 3). Those of us old enough to remember the bad old days prior to fracking know that an action like that would have kicked the pump prices up a good .50 to a buck!
If you think a bit independently and somewhat rationally, you KNOW that there is NO WAY the Russians would want Trump rather than Hillary to win! They are a huge energy producer, and US oil dependency vastly reduced US global power. (and the Russians invested heavily to discourage fracking -- duh) ... if Hillary had been elected, fracking in the US would have been crippled! Advantage Moscow!
I can imagine they put some token money in US elections in order to diminish faith in the US electoral process (mission accomplished!), but to want Hillary to win? Not in this universe.
One could suspect that even if a full Democrat government takes over ... House, Senate, President, SCOTUS, Deep State, etc, that college and healthcare may not actually be free, free, free! ... although one could easily expect that it might be "hate speech" to point that out!

Ok, so we know the obvious -- the Deep State is made up of a bunch of Democrats who don't like Trump, so they are working like crazy in the open to discredit him.
The comparison is plausible in light of the extensive efforts soon after the election to encourage the bureaucracy, including the intelligence bureaucracy, to resist the Trump administration, and the evidence that there was in some agencies such resistance.

Bloomberg, Money, Beat Trump

I still think there is a high chance of Michelle Obama as our next president, however, the WaPo is thinking Bloomberg terminal.
If it isn't clear to you by now that the ONLY agenda of the left is POWER, and this article doesn't make that really really crystal clear, then it might be good to ask a few questions of yourself:
The forces of the left ... Deep State, MSM, big business, etc were completely certain that Hillary would win, and they had "insurance" (illegal investigation, Russiagate, stuffed ballot boxes, Undocumented Democrats (Illegal Aliens), etc), The insurance worked well enough to bog Trump down in 2 years of investigations, which in concert with Deep State rebellion (slow walk of his policies by bureaucracy, judicial appeals / blocks, etc) made it AMAZING that he was able to get the tax and business reform to re-ignite the economy through in spite of the opposition.
The gloves are off however ... again, I still think Michelle is their best shot, however the real strings continue to be pulled by the global elite ... an old post on this which is likely much worse now. It is they who will make the decision -- and the thin reed to prevent their even more complete takeover is TRUMP -- flawed, but incredibly resilient and effective!

- Am I actually a person of the left even if I'm sure I'm not? Perhaps you have gotten confused as to what the left really is. It's not hard to imagine, there has been a massive attempt to confuse you since WWII.
- Have I become Totally Tribal (TT), where "Winning Is The Only Thing", and the means, the methods, etc make no difference?
- Have I confused politics with morality, or possibly even worse, mere Virtue Signalling?
We could go on ... suffice to say, all the left preening about "money in politics" is just that, preening.
What people don’t yet seem to have grasped is this: Bloomberg is going to spend an astronomical amount of money on this race. Probably at least $1 billion. Maybe twice that. Possibly even more. Numbers like that upend every model of every presidential race in history. He can buy every news adjacency on cable and local television stations from now until November and not make a dent in his net worth. U.S. politics has never seen such financial throw weight in a presidential campaign.And, the left is FINE WITH THAT! More than "fine", they APPLAUD it! The only money they want to limit (even prohibit) is money that doesn't agree with them ... see "hate speech", "racist speech", "homophobic speech", "sexist speech", "white privilege", etc ... In a mass media society, money = speech!
