I worry that we have gotten so anesthetized to charges of "He's Hitler", we won't be able to recognize true authoritarianism when it shows up. The linked gives a good view of what authoritarianism looks like.

But his entire mayoralty was defined less by these mass displays of authoritarian force than by the everyday abuses his police committed against millions of New Yorkers of color as part of his police department’s stop-and-frisk policy.
